Egypt is a spirit

  Egypt is a spirit

Egypt is a spirit, not necessarily a place or location.
Bondage or prison is a place of slavery, but it is also a place of familiarity and comfort to the slaves therein. Egypt can be any place or any name... it's still a prison cell. Consider the man possessed by the legion of demons, he was a prisoner in his own body, until Jesus came and delivered him.

The Israelites said they wanted to be free. They complained about their cruel treatment and having to work hard for Pharoah in Egypt. They gave their strength, time, resources, all to please Egypt. They spent their time working, but did not have much time with their family, not time in worshipping God, not time in simple life’s pleasures. But instead, they were busy running and toiling all day long, then at night they were so tired from giving of themselves to Egypt, there was no time left over for their family, no time for God, no time to rest or relax and enjoy life. So they went about their lives murmuring, complaining, running, staying busy but having no laughter and certainly no real joy.

What if... God is actually freeing us from slavery in Egypt? What if the quarantine is not taking away our life, not taking away our freedom, not taking away our luxuries, but in fact is GIVING us our lives back? Giving back to us true freedom, true joy, luxuries that really matter. Like giving us time to be alone with God, time to read His word, time to love our families, time to actually look them in the eyes face to face and talk to them, really listen to them, really enjoy just being with them, to laugh together, to eat together, to play together, to pray together, to encourage one another.

What if this virus thing, as bad as it it, is not a curse, but is actually a doorway to freedom and a blessing in disguise? What if under the cloak of inconvenience, we have a golden opportunity to reset our lives? Reset our relationship with God? Reset our relationship with our loved ones? What if it is a RESET, to count the things that really matter instead of hoarding the things that don't?

Some say we are in a bad spot, a rough predicament. But what if, dear children, we are being delivered? As a mother gives birth and delivers a baby, there is waiting, there is labor, there is pain, there is blood, sweat and tears, but when that baby is born and new life enters, oh what joy comes! Laughter comes! Tears of joy flow, smiling faces everywhere for the joy of the new birth! Take this time my friend to experience the new birth in Christ. In the Bible John 3:1-8 Jesus tells Nicodemus that “you must be born again.” This is a season of new found opportunities. New life awaits and from this new season, there will be hope and joy.

Yes, joy comes in the morning. Be encouraged little ones and let not your hearts be troubled.
Let God arise and all His enemies be scattered. Let us rejoice for all the new babies coming!
2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Deliverance like the new birth, brings newness to life and much joy. My prayer for you, dear friends, is that you will be completely set free in all areas of your life and Christ rules and reigns in your hearts.

Blessings to you!
